Tag # 16 Movie Star/Stars

This weeks challenge is now underway over at
                                Go Tag Thursday
The theme this week is Movies Star or Movie Stars...
I had a few stamps that would fit the bill, but this James Dean one has been sitting in my drawer for a few years..unused...so it was high time I played with it.

For my 2nd Tag I have used a set of my favourite stamps from Oxford Impressions...Casablanca. I was actually gifted these from  Dorothy, a dear friend in Canada,  many years ago. I had left a comment on her blog and she selected me to win a prize, which were a set of Oxford Impression stamps..I wrote and thanked her and told her I loved the stamps...and she actually sent me 2 more sets...I was pretty overwhelmed....she searched me out when she joined facebook and we remain friends to this day.

I would love to see you over at the tag challenge or maybe tell your friends if you are unable to join in...

Harvest Moon at Sunday Postcard Art

Such a great theme this week by Deann over at Sunday Postcard Art..and it had me stumped, lol.
I mean I have heard the saying Harvest Moon and I know at least one song, but I needed to create the postcard using my stash...so here's what I did...

I used satin card 4"x 6" postcard size and created the moon first and being a Harvest Moon it had to be bright, easy to do I punched a circle and laid it on the card and inked the hole creating the moon. Masking off the moon I used Ink Dusters to brush several colours across the postcard,
The image is a stamp by Artistic Outpost and the sentiment and birds are by Inkyliscious.

My Mid Month Tutorial

Each month over on my altered art blog Rhedd's Creative Spirit  the design team make a mid month tutorial..and this month it is my turn...
I chose to alter a rather heavy tissue box that a friend had given me a while back....I used paper napkins as the images were so pretty.....

So armed with white acrylic paint, a napkins, mod podge, some rubber stamps, green ink pad and some trims, I set off to transform the tissue box...
You can find my tutorial and see the finished box here at

Mountboard Tags

Another week, another challenge over at Go Tag Thursday
Tag # 13 theme is Anything Goes...so I have had a bit of fun creating these 3 tags from mount board.

This dressmaker stamp was coloured using distress ink and then stamped..adding embellishment to finish.

For this Tag I gessoed and then painted it with acrylic paints and using the back edge of a knife I swiped a few lines across the front of the tag with paint.
I it left to dry overnight and then stamped it...to finish I added some mesh and a paperclip.

The last Tag was fun to do, the stamp is house shaped so I cut my mount board to suit..stamped and heat embossed the image..then coloured it.

So if you enjoy making Tags I would love to see you enter the challenge at

Leafy Postcard

A great theme, chosen by Anne, over at Sunday Postcard Art."Leaves"
Although I have a few leafy stamps,I chose to go digital this week...mainly because I have my great grandson staying over and there is no way I am letting this 2yr old in to my workshop just yet,lol...

So here is my "Leaves " postcard..I am really pleased with how this one turned out, even though the little girl looks worried, probably afraid she is going to slide off her toadstool.lol

Do pop over and take a look at the challenge and be sure to check out the other entries..there are some amazing entries there each week...

Pretty enough for the Dresser

Now, who could resist adding this altered bottle the their dressing table...
I altered this bottle as my project for the Dt  over at
Altered Eclectics  for their September Challenge...and I love is so much, it now has pride of place on my dressing table.

I love the shape of this bottle..I actually bought it in a cheap/ thrift store and it came with the cork stopper.
I attached some muslin around the bottle then layered that up with some silver mesh and a very lacy section of a vintage cotton doily that I had bought ages ago in a charity shop...

I had a silver wired crystal spray which I cut and separated in to 3 pieces and added 2 of them to the main part of my bottle...
I actually made my large flower by stitching and then gathering 2 different pieces of  lace in to a circle. I punched a circle for the back of the flower from card..I used hot glue to adhere the two pieces of lace together then added a peachy rosette I had in my stash.

I used a small piece of the crystal spray and some of the silver mesh for the neck of the bottle, finally adding the butterfly with a small amount of hot glue.
