My Bird Tags

I did mean to pop in and post these Tags the other day,but I think I was still in shock at finding my mojo is slowly returning.
Well I know these aren't exactly lavish, but were the best I could do at the time, not wanting to frighten my mojo off, lol.
The Tags are for my friend Moira, she has a Tag Swap Group on facebook. I had signed up at the beginning of the month and I really didn't want to let her down...in fact I don't like letting anyone down. It's not nice when folk sign up to do a swap and pull out at the last minute.
She has received them in the post now and is pleased,so a relief for me...

"Something for the Men" over at Rhedd & Rosies

Well, I am ashamed to say I have made no contribution to the challenge blog for their new challenge that started today. My mojo is staying away at the moment and no matter what I do I can't seem to create anything.
However the team have done a great job over on the blog, you really must pop over and have a look and see the amazing exploding clock that Rebecca has made. As an Anything Goes Challenge blog, altered art is acceptable too.
The theme is "Something for the Men" and can be found here....http://rheddandrosies.blogspot.co.uk/

A Boy & his Fish.....

Time again for the Pink Team to take over Ellapu's with all our Dt makes, you must pop over for a lookie, some fabby makes over there.
The theme for the challenge this week is "For a Boy"....for this I decided to make a card and as most of you know, I don't like making cute!!!! So I went through my stamps and found several that fitted the theme perfectly and keeping a slightly vintage feel to the card I managed to mix and match the stamps. I also fancied keeping within the 2 colours of brown and white, it shows the images off perfectly. Adding some string and a star fish as embellishments...

You will find the challenge here...would love you to join in....

The Man.....Steampunk style...

Not only has my mojo been playing games with me, my blog has become virtually impossible to use. My creativity has gone in to hibernation and if it wasn't for the fact I stamped my Tag a few days ago especially for the challenge,I probably wouldn't have got it finished this afternoon, all I had to do was add the hat and embellishments.
To top that, blogger must be having a hissy fit. Last week I couldn't access my blog any further than the dashboard, I eventually found a forum, which said to use a new link they posted up.. That worked a treat, until today, I've been sitting here on and off for an hour trying to upload my photo! Every time I go to add a photo,I am asked to log in again,so of course I do,then they tell me there is an error, try again later, which of course I do,so I am just going around in circles. My biggest draw back is I am not very techie, so the jargon related to pc's goes right over my head, lol.
Anyway, I will try and add my photo under this post and see if it uplaods....fingers crossed.

This is the Tag that I've made for the challenge here....
http://tagalongchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/
The theme is " Masculine " so I have used my lovely Le Blanche stamp of this very distinguished gentleman, adding a steampunk twist...hope you like it.

Well, uploading after the writing the post seems to have worked....fingers crossed it posts,lol...

A Dashing Gent

I do love Mandy's new challenge blog over at ...
http://tagalongchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/tag-3-polka-dots.html
So much so that I have entered another Tag this week. I have used one of my Darkroom Door Stamp Sets for this tag, I'm ashamed to say that I don't use them as a often as I should, although in my defence I can say I have so many stamps that I can't possibly use them all, lol.
Hope you like my Tag...why not pop over and join in with the challenge...

Victorian Scrap Tag.

I was having a rummage through my many folders in my craft room today, before I knew it 2 hours had passed and I had a pile of stuff that I needed to re-organise. I suppose most crafters have the same problem, that nice scrap of paper that's too pretty to throw away, a few images that you keep because at some point they may come in handy, then when you need them, you can't find them, lol
So this is how I came across my plastic folder full of Vintage Scraps and decided to make a Tag for a challenge using one of the images.
The Tag is for the challenge over at http://tagalongchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/tag-3-polka-dots.html  a great theme too, "Polka Dots"
I used some floral dotted paper and plain dotted paper, both of which I added inked dots using some sequin waste. Added my image, the stamped words and then all the trimmings. Wasn't sure about the flower, but as I fixed it in place with hot glue, there was no way I could peel it off with doing damage to the Tag.

It's taken me ages to actually post and upload on blogger, is anyone else having this problem...so annoying when I can't access my blogs.

A Little Bird...

Would you believe me if I said that I struggle when it comes to using a "Bird" theme, well I do,lol. This is a Bird themed Tag that I have made for the challenge over at Tagalong. This stamp from Indigoblu was just perfect for my tag, although I only used the centre section where the bird is. I distressed the edges of the tag. I decided to stamp the bird and the flowers again on spare card and coloured them using distress ink, then added them to the tag using sticky pads, just to give those areas a lift, makes the tag pop I think.
Finished it all off with some gold lace, some lovely ribbon and the sentiment, which reads "Fly my little songbird, fly"

A Happy Chappie

I had such a restless night that I got up and spent a few hours in my craft room. I think the antibiotics I am taking have upset my system a little bit, also with the fibromyalgia I am used to nights with very little sleep.
So this is the Tag I made for the challenge here....

I think this set of stamps is one of my favourites, ( in fact all Artistic Outpost Stamps are my favourites, lol )
I love this little boy holding the lion cub, just look at his happy little face while he is holding the cub. I have, somewhere, a vintage photo of him too, it was a freebie image I found ages ago.
The Tag ,which I cut myself measures 31/2" x 51/2"  I coloured the tag using distress ink then stamped the poster. On some spare card I stamped all the other elements, the boy, his cub and the elephant, all of which I painted using a damp brush and distress ink pads.

Fur Babies....

The new challenge is up and running now over at Ecletic Ellapus...the theme is "Your Fur Babies" past or present. Well, I had to resort to using this gorgeous vintage image, because all the photos of my past fur babies are all packed in a box in the cupboard under the stairs and there was no way I'm delving in there to drag them out....I could go missing for days there's that much stuff, lol.
I made my own backing paper for this tag, added the image, stamped the sentiment and then added all the trims, the edges were  distressed  with Tea Stain distress ink.
The challenge can be found here...

Fancy Edges Tag

As you can see by my Tag, I am in the "purple mood"...funny how your colour choice can affect how you craft. I must admit purple isn't one of favourite colours, just felt compelled to create with it today...people always tell me I'm odd, lol.
So on to my tag....this was originally a die cut (Tim Holtz Cabinet Die) I cut 2 pieces, one in card and the other in Tim Holtz floral paper, then glued them together. Once dry I then trimmed the card to the shape I wanted.
The challenge I am entering this Tag in to is here....
The theme is to use 3 decorative edges, so mine are
1. Doily Edge
2. Border above the Lace
3.The bottom edge of the Tag.
All the embellishments are from my stash, including a lovely little stick pin.

Treasure Hunt...

There's going to be a huge, in fact a massive Treasure Hunt starting over here....http://eclecticellapu.blogspot.co.uk/....on the 1st October. The  finer details will be published nearer the time.

My Design Team make....

From these used slide mounts

                              to this...Altered Slide Mounts.

I inherited quite a few slide mounts after my dad passed away last year. He and my mum took stacks of photos,so I have sifted through them and saved all the ones that are sentimental to me and I am recycling the rest. The ones above are fabulous to use, being plastic and have real glass in them, which I have cleaned and kept in the slides I have altered.
The images I have used are pre printed by Crafty Individuals and the pilot image is a stamp from a set by Artistic Outpost. The image of the old lady was in my stash...think I had downloaded it from a freebie image site...was a very long time ago now.
So,this is my design team make for the new challenge that is now under way over here...
http://alteredeclectics.blogspot.co.uk/.....it is a fun challenge blog...last month there were some fabulous entries and I enjoyed looking at them all.
