As Time Goes By....

As Time Goes By.....the name of an old song, but also the name for my Tag. This is my design team piece for the new challenge that started today over at   http://rheddandrosies.blogspot.co.uk/
The theme is "Time" I wanted to do something slightly different from the obvious so out came one of my favourite stamp sets from Oxford Impressions. These are from the film Casablanca and fitted the theme perfectly.
Do pop over to have a look at the challenge, as always it's an anything goes blog (so long as you stay in theme) and as always there is a prize for the winner...a lovely Paperartsy stamp.

Butterfly Tag with a bit of Sparkle...

I decided to have a play in my craft room today, well it's my garage actually, which I can get to from inside my maisonette. I don't own a car, so all the space down there is mine...well except for the freezer, lol.
Today I have made an entry for the challenge over at   http://ali-craft.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/ali-craft-monthly-blog-challenge-2.html    The theme is Butterfly/Butterflies so I have cut a large Tag in half and covered it in some scrap backing paper. The Crackle background stamp is one from Indigoblu and the postcard one is an Inkylicious stamp...both are fabulous stamps to use. The butterfly was stamped twice on off cuts from the backing paper, then I coloured the butterfly with a damp brush and distress ink pads. Once dry I layered the butterfly and added the antennae and  stickles for a bit of sparkle, although the camera hasn't picked that up very well. To finish the tag off I trimmed with lace and pearls.

An English Country Garden

This is my little Twinchie ( 2"x 2" ) that I've made for the challenge over at    http://twinchie-twinchiehotmaillive.blogspot.co.uk/    The theme is "An English Country Garden" so you can have anything from afternoon teas,to butterflies.
For my image I used part of a Le Blanche stamp....a little girl is looking at the butterfly and flowers. The theme sounds very vintage, well to me it is and I thought the section of the stamped fitted quite well.
For the colour I used a damp brush, picking colour up from the distress ink pads.

The Fortune Teller....

Well, here we are at the start of another week...and I am here to share my Dt piece with you.The new challenge is all set over at    http://eclecticellapu.blogspot.co.uk/   and the theme is "Anything Goes"
I have used a wooden stamp block, after removing the stamp, my besties partner cleaned the wood up for me. I painted the block to seal it then covered it in paper that I stamped with the script stamps from this fabulous set of stamps  from Artistic Outpost. I then stamped the fortune teller and the fortunes on separate card that I coloured with distress ink. For the top I just cut some card in a shape to suit then inked it and glued it in place, adding a star. The feet are little cotton reels, again coloured in distress ink and glued in place. To finish I added a few pearls to the fortune tellers headdress...
I am also entering this piece in to the challenge over at   http://artisticoutpost.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/artistic-outpost-july-referral-program.html   and is my second entry in to their challenge.
Thank you to all that drop by my blog, it's always lovely to know that you visit...

Just popped in quick with another "Music" Twinchie which I'm also entering in to the challenge over at   http://twinchieschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/3-music-lyrics.html
The backing paper is by papermania and the image is from my stash, again, this one I've had for absolutely ages. The "Love Song" title fits it perfectly...hope you like it.

Let the Music Play...

I've had this lovely image in my stash for a couple of years, I actually found him when I was looking for something else. He was just perfect for the Twinchie  ( 2"x 2" ) challenge over  here.....http://twinchieschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/3-music-lyrics.html.....
The backing paper is by Papermania, well I think it is and the words I cut from a child's story book ( picked up a bundle in the charity shop a while ago ) To finished I distressed the edges with Bundled Sage ink.

Pretty Altered Canvas

Wow,hot or what and would you believe the local weather forecast warns us of even more heat, a warning of level 3, we are on level 2 at the moment...I think I'll be spending the next few days in my cool craft room.
This is a little  canvas I experimented with, I added bits of cotton lace and then gessoed it all over. My mistake was using the darkest ink spray first, a lapse of concentration on my part. But as the saying goes, there are no mistakes in Art, so this canvas has turned out ok---ish, lol. It's a shame that the photo dosen't show the shimmer of the micra sprays, in real life its's so much better.
This is my Dt make for the new challenge over at   http://rheddandrosies.blogspot.co.uk/    the theme is "Anything Goes" so you can make whatever takes your fancy in any theme or style ( excluding complete digital work ) that you want.
I am sponsoring the challenge this time around so do pop over for a look and maybe enter the challenge, would be lovely to see you there...

( Hi Jenny, hope you are well and keeping cool, waving like mad here, lol )

Beautiful Flower Girl

Isn't the image of this girl just gorgeous...what a find too. I popped in to my local "Crafty Hands" craft shop and they had some "scraps" for sale, so I grabbed a few packets, all vintage of course, but out of all the scraps, this is my favourite. She fits perfectly for the theme "Flowers" for this weeks challenge over at  http://eclecticellapu.blogspot.co.uk/  Make anything you like but you must follow the theme.
I used backing paper on my tag, then I added the scrap image. Added 2 layers of lace and then found some fabby red roses, which I highlighted with inca gold.  The sentiment was computor generated and I distressed the edges with red inks, same as I have done on the tag. The final touch was adding the red gems and ribbon.

Songbird Twinchie...

Phew,is summer usually this hot...I'm rapidly melting here, for some one who loves the cooler months, this is is almost unbearable to me. I've stayed indoors ,fans are all on and did a spot of crafting. Got my youngest grandson here and he was busy stripping down an old TV and radio for bits to pop in my tub,I use them for altered art.
So on to my little Songbird Twinchie...this is for the challenge over at   http://twinchieschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/   and the theme is Music. I have used white board and adhered some music paper to it,distressed the edges with ink. Then I stamped the songbird, which I coloured and then added the people ( which came off a sheet of backing papers, again I coloured with distress inks ) I am pleased with the way it looks.

Music to my Ears....

I was over the moon this week when I found I had won the Twinchie challenge for last month, it's not often I actually win anything...so I'm looking for forward to my prize of ribbons arriving...I was able to choose the colours too.
So I have entered the July challenge, the theme is Music and this is my take on the theme. I have used part of a stamp for the image on some card that I made using spray paints.
The challenge can be found over here.....http://twinchieschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/....

Here Comes Summer...

Time again for another fortnightly challenge again over at....http://rheddandrosies.blogspot.co.uk/...such a great theme "Here Comes Summer" chosen by teamie Tina. With the school holidays upon us, I'm hoping everywhere the weather is summery, so mums can take their children to the beach etc...I used to spend the whole summer holidays on the beach when my children were little, all that fresh air, lots of swimming, lots of sandy sandwiches...happy days.
I made a Tag for my Dt make...first I swiped distress ink across the middle of the tag with scattered straw distress ink, then using broken china ink I swiped the top and bottom of the tag. When it was dry I stamped  the beach huts directly on to the Tag, the lady I stamped on some  scrap paper, coloured it and then added it to the Tag. Finally I dragged some white stickles across the bottom of the card to add sparkle to the water.

This is the prize on offer for the challenge...you can make anything so long as it is within the theme.
Hope to see you over there..x
